Our Story

A Journey of Faith, Family, and Legacy

Jon and Mary Dickens became one on June 9, 1984. Since that moment, their love story has been a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and a shared vision for a life rooted in love, understanding, and purpose. Together, they have raised six children and have been blessed with 13 grandchildren to date.

But their journey has not been without its challenges. Like many couples, Jon and Mary have faced trials, heartbreaks, and moments that tested their faith. Yet, through it all, their commitment to each other, their family, and most importantly, to God, has remained unwavering. They believe that every trial they’ve faced has been an opportunity for growth, learning, and transformation, both as individuals and as a family.

A Radical Turn in Their Journey

In the summer of 2006, Jon’s life took a radical turn. After building a successful career as an engineer, he felt the call of God leading him in a new direction. Leaving behind the comfort and stability of his career, Jon embarked on a journey of faith—one that would eventually lead him and Mary to step into a ministry that would change not only their lives but the lives of many others.

That journey led to the formation of One Legacy, a non-profit ministry dedicated to helping couples and families find healing, restoration, and purpose. Over the past 17 years, Jon and Mary’s ministry has touched countless lives and has become a beacon of hope for those seeking a deeper connection with their spouse, their family, and their faith.

Healing, Restoration, and Transformation

The last 17 years have been a profound time of growth, healing, and restoration for the Dickens family. Through their experiences, they have learned invaluable lessons about faith, love, and resilience. Their journey has fundamentally transformed their family, forging a beautiful legacy that will continue to impact generations to come.

Jon and Mary are compassionate leaders of Deeper Still, a transformative program designed to support those healing from the pain of abortion. Through their retreats, they guide individuals on a journey toward forgiveness and emotional freedom, helping them move past the devastation that often lingers in the heart. Deeper Still provides a safe and nurturing environment where participants can confront their wounds and experience the profound healing that comes from understanding God's forgiveness. Jon and Mary’s dedication to this mission offers hope to those who believe they are beyond redemption, showing them that true freedom is possible in Christ.
